Michael Horton started working at Horton’s at the age of 14. He started as an orthotic technician. After graduating high school in 1992, Mike started seeing orthotic patients as a practitioner as he furthered is degree by majoring in Kinesiology at UCA. Mike became more and more passionate about Orthotic and Prosthetic patients so he continued his education by graduating from Northwestern University and become ABC licensed and certified Orthotist and Prosthetists. He returned home to continue his father’s legacy. Mike has worked on many projects over the years with his father including the Stance Control Orthotic Knee Joint (SCOKJ). He sees patients from all over the world for the SCOKJ and also has been to many meetings to lecture on this topic. Mike is the backup instructor on the SCOKJ and has had practitioners from as far as Australia fly to Little Rock to be trained by him on the SCOKJ. Mike enjoys being able to design prostheses and watching patients walk for the first time since their limb loss. Mike also enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
